In rainy Season during thundering,light and sound produced at the same time.
When you see lightening start counting in seconds till you hear the sound of thunder.
Suppose you count 7 seconds
This implies sound took 7 seconds to reach you.
Speed of sound = 343 m/s
Now use formula Distance = Speed * Time
For 7 seconds:-
Distance = 343 * 7 = 2401 m
It means clouds which are producing thundrering & lightening are located at 2401 m from you.
